		We, TIRUPUR EXPORT KNIT PRINTERS ASSOCIATION - TEKPA, feel very proud to welcome you to the garment city Tirupur which has registered its presence in the world map as the pioneer in the export of garments. Textile Screen Printing is a small scale industry engaged especially in Knit Exports in Tirupur. It is purely a jobwork. In Tirupur alone there are 960 Table and Machine Printing units which undertake Export Knit Printing Jobworks and provide jobs for 40,000 workers. From these units 2 Million pieces are being printed per day in multi colours. In the globalization Era, we need modern automatic machineries and modern screen printing technologies to maximize our quantity and quality. To safeguard our interest, modernize our units, enrich our technical knowledge, know the buyers expectations and to complete the world market, we need a strong association. To fullfill these aims Tirupur Export Knit Printers Association was formed on 18.10.2004. From the day onwards TEKPA has started its long journey to attain its aims and objects. We feel very happy to remind you some of the important events in the long march of TEKPA. On 24.11.2004 an office with all necessary facilities was opened at Tirupur for TEKPA's fulltime activities On 20.12.2004 TEKPA was enrolled as an associate member in the Arbitration Council of Tirupur to deal with the industrial disputes of our members. On 5.1.2005 the 1st issue of "TEKPA CHEITHI", official monthly organ of TEKPA was released by Mr. A. Sakthivel, President, TEA and it is attracting the whole industry with its views and news. On 10.3.2005 a technical seminar on OKEOTEX STANDARD PRINTING INK was conducted and Megna Colours representatives Ms. Janet Hardy Participated in it. In every TEKPA G.B. Meeting technical seminars are taking place. A team of 32 members of TEKPA visited China and attended the China InteDye 2005 held at Shangai on 26, 27 & 28 April 2005. The team also met the China Dyes & Screen Printing Association Leaders and exchanged experiences in the field of screen printing. It also visited the Shangai Pacific Company Ltd. This China tour gave us technical confidence to complete and win the world market and the CD's China Tour were supplied to our members. A TEKPA team attended the FESPA INDIA 2005 EXPO and gained experiences. And now we are supporting the PRINTEX INDIA the exclusive Textile Screen Printing show in Tirupur. In appreciation of TEKPA's activities Textiles Committe has identified TEKPA as a tier-II partner to support the causes of the textile sector in India. TEKPA has laided the foundation stone for its own office on 06.03.2006. It also plans to establish an "Institute of Modern Screen Printing" in the near future. TEKPA also contributed to the T-Shunami Relief Fund and to the VALAM for the development of Tirupur City. For our further progress we need your cooperation and support in all aspects.
